ITC completes RFID project
Campus security has certainly reached a new level with ITC’s recent innovation.  Through the efforts of the Information Systems Unit, the Radio Frequency ID (RFID) project was finally completed in coordination with the Registrar’s Office. Through this initiative, students and employees will just scan their IDs on a machine to establish identity.  Seen to enhance security on campus, this will prevent unauthorized entry of individuals. A computer will be placed in the university gates together with the machine that will read the RFID (replaces old ID used in the university) and will prompt the guard of the basic information of the owner of the RFID being scanned...[more]

Web Unit holds PEO orientation
The Web Unit conducted a Post Events Online (PEO) orientation for student leaders on July 8, 2009 at MAH102.  This is very timely as the system has recently been improved to give way to a better layout and design and a more efficient user-friendly mechanism for the clients....[more]

Biometrics project takes off
With the Information Systems Unit at the helm, the Biometrics project has recently been completed and will undergo parallel testing sometime this first semester, school year 2009-2010.  This initiative automates the employees’ timekeeping process in a secured manner by using fingerprints and replaces the traditional way of timekeeping through a bundy clock... Free WiFi access for the community
This school year, the Network Unit has started to implement free WiFi access for both employees and students.  This is a welcome improvement from the old procedure which required students to pay for WiFi subscription every semester. Student registration is on a semestral basis and limited to one computer per registrant.  To register, students have to come to the Information Technology Center for the configuration of their laptops. Registration this semester started on July 15 and will run until the end of July....[more]
