     The idea of gathering materials on the history and culture of Cavite was conceptualized by Emilio Aguinaldo College under its president Dr. Paulo Campos.

     It was Dominador del Rosario who was sent by then DLSU System President Br. Andrew Gonzalez, FSC, to Cebuano Studies Center to study its set-up and make recommendations on having a similar study center in Cavite.

     CSC was initially housed at the second floor of the administration building (formerly records section).

     CSC opened Museo Caviteño to house artifacts on Cavite which were collected and donated by faculty members and students.

     Before the center became an independent unit of the university, it used to be under the Social Sciences Department.

     Cavite Baseline Survey: 1989 by Celso R. Gutierrez is the first publication released by CSC.

     Dominador del Rosario, Segundo Sim, Segismundo Añonuevo, Teresita Unabia and Bernard Esternon, all faculty members of the Social Sciences Department, have served as CSC coordinators.

     In 1998, the title coordinator was changed to director during the appointment of Emmanuel Calairo, who currently heads CSC.
