Collections
To feature local history, CSC has permanent and occasional exhibits of documents and cultural properties and facsimiles related to Caviteños history. It also initiates the incorporation of the study on local history in existing subjects.
Classified into three categories, to date, CSC has: Caviteniana, Filipiniana and General Collection, and Special Collection.
Caviteniana
- PHOTOCOPIES OF DOCUMENTS ABOUT CAVITE during the Spanish colonial period found in the Philippine national Archives. The archival series pertains to the founding of towns, economic reports and materials on geography, education and social and political history: Escuelas, Varias Provincias, Prestación Personal, Elección de Gobernadorcillos, Calamidades Públicas, Fincas Urbanas, Erección de pueblos, Memorias, Estancia de Ganaob, Contribucion Industrial, Protocolos, Cabezas de Barangay and Cédulas Personales.
- TRANSCRIPTION OF INTERVIEWS with people who have intimate knowledge and experiences in town histories, local traditions and celebrations, and native cuisines.
- PHOTOS of heroes of the Philippine Revolution 1896-1898, prominent Caviteños, town churches, and ancestral houses, patron saints, historical landmarks, industries and other places of interests
- VIDEOS on Cavite folklore and traditions
- VERTICAL FILES include Cavite provincial profile, Cavite profile ( arranged town), photocopied literary and rare manuscripts
Filipiniana and General Collection
- BOOKS- majority of which deal with 19th century Philippines, the Philippine Revolution of 1896-1898 and the Philippine- American war. Others are about theories and methods of history writing, and Philippine colonial and post war events.
- PERIODICALS include various titles of journals on history, social sciences and literature.

- MICROFICHE AND MICROFILM REELS on rare books and documents dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries
CSC is the only office in DLSU-D that has microfiche and micro film reader. It was acquired in 2003 through the DLSU Science Foundation. The microfilm reader Model 4601-02 with 14" by 20" screen and dual switchable lenses could read 16 mm and 36 mm roll files. At present, CSC has 198 reels and more than 100 microfiche in its collection.
