First professorial chair in GSB established


Making the first concrete step toward the creation of a
culture of research in the Graduate School of Business Dr.
Carlo Magno, dean of the Graduate School of Business
(GSB), donated Php 400,000 for the establishment of the
first professorial chair in the Graduate School of Business.

Executive Vice President Dr. Herminia Torres and Vice
President for Academics Dr. Myrna Ramos graciously
received the endowment during the formal establishment of
the professorial chair at the Galeria Guevara of the Museo
De La Salle, March 9.

Dubbed as the Dr. Carlo Ricardo Hernandez Magno
Distinguished Professorial Chair in Business, the grant aims
to strengthen the school’s thrust to encourage research
undertakings of faculty. Through this grant, teachers of
the institution, particularly in the Graduate School of
Business, will be provided with the opportunity and the
means to grow professionally and share their knowledge
and experience with the community.

In his response during the affair, Dr. Magno said that he
hopes to motivate GSB faculty members, including
business/industry practitioners and those who only work
part-time, to immerse themselves in research. With the
establishment of the grant, he hopes that he has
contributed in creating an environment conducive to
research for he believes that research is important for
graduate level education.
