AEA, UFRO sponsor talk on web-based publishing
systems

To update the academic community on the latest trends in
online publishing systems, the Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo
(AEA) and the University Faculty Research Office (UFRO)
will sponsor a lecture titled Online and Open Access
Publishing on February 20 at the Luis Aguado Viewing
Room.

The lecture, which will be delivered by Dr. John Willinsky,
Literacy and Technology professor at the University of
British Columbia, will focus on the features and benefits of
the new online publishing systems and open access (free-
to-read) publishing in improving research activities. A
demonstration on the management of new
online publishing systems will likewise be presented.

After the presentation, an open forum will follow
to discuss concerns and issues on publishing and research activities.

Participants of the lecture will include administrators and
faculty members who are actively involved in academic
research and publications.
