Patambang in SF conference

University Lasallian Family Office Director Myra Patambang joined Signum Fidei (SF) delegates from Malaysia, Oklahoma and the Philippines at the La Salle Villa for the Pacific Asia Regional Conference, April 16-19.

The main thrust of the conference is the discussion of the identity, formation, apostolate and consecration of SF lay partners as well as their relevance to modern life. It aims to reaffirm relevant ideas and to offer recommendations in some areas in the Vademecum, the SF way of life.

This conference is in preparation for the international assembly in Rome in 2005. Patambang was elected as delegate to the said gathering.

Br. Rafe’s collection finds new home

De La Salle Lipa President Emeritus Br. Rafael “Rafe” Donato FSC, recently donated his collection of horse figurines to DLSU-D. An exhibit was held on May 5 at the second floor of the Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo (AEA) to formally dedicate the Br. Rafael Donato Collection. Executive Vice President Dr. Herminia Torres and AEA Director Maribeth Aguila headed the list of attendees.

The collection boasts of 154 pieces of different types of horse figurines. The most treasured piece is a cast iron antique horse, which was a gift from Don Enrique Zobel of Spain.

Br. Rafe’s interest for horses began when he was assigned in De La Salle Lipa where he started collecting pictures of horses during his leisure time. Eventually, his collection expanded from photos to paintings and figurines that were given by his close friends inside and outside the academic circle.
With the collection strategically displayed at the AEA memorabilia section, he hopes that visitors will know and appreciate the real message of his collection. According to him, “life can be compared to a horse’s character – beautiful, fast and strong but fragile.”
