Admi midyear workshop set

In line with the university’s continuing thrust towards
academic excellence, the DLSU-D administrators will hold a
midyear workshop on October 14 at the Conference Room
of the Severino De Las Alas Hall to evaluate the extent of
accomplishment of key targets set for the first semester
schoolyear 2003-2004.

The workshop will also be the venue for discussions on
issues and concerns regarding academics, faculty
development/research, facilities, security, student
behavior, scholarships and linkages, formation programs,
academic services programs, culture and community
extension programs.

Participants will include key administrators, college deans,
associate deans and directors of some units.

LCDC intensifies outreach programs

As DLSU-D’s lead unit in implementing community
development programs, the Lasallian Community
Development Center (LCDC) continuously finds means of
improving its services through various activities such as a
leadership training on October 12 and a partnership council
workshop on October 16.

LCDC faculty has prepared modules on how to preside in
meetings, proper decorum, how to take minutes and group
dynamics for parish council officers of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus Parish in Dasmariñas, Cavite. This is made possible
through the efforts of Fr. Marty Dimaranan.

Meanwhile, the partnership council workshop is geared
towards coming up with a more focused program of
services for one of DLSU-D’s partner communities,
Barangay Sta. Mercedes in Maragondon, Cavite.
Representatives from World Vision, Philippine Rural
Reconstruction Movement and University of Santo Tomas
will be part of the workshop, which will be held at the
World Vision Office in Naic, Cavite.
