Blended e-learning
now on campus
A
pilot project on Blended e-learning was launched this
semester in response to the policy statement put forward
by EVP Dr. Herminia Torres. The policy statement aims at
pursuing globalization, computerization and networking in
the DLSU-D community. Through the e-Class Task Force,
selected faculty from different departments will make use
of e-classrooms, provided for by the universitys myDLSUD
portal, in teaching their students.
This vision and direction jibes well with the challenge
posted by Br. Andrew Gonzalez, FSC to the administrators
to address the idea of global consciousness, Dr. Norberto
Orcullo Jr., Management Department chair and head of the
task force, said. He also explained that blended e-learning
essentially embraces the concept of e-learning with the
Lasallian approach to education taking into consideration
various operational limitations at hand. Further, the idea of
going into blended e-learning, according to Dr. Orcullo, will
maximize the use of the myDLSUD portal.
Selected faculty members, who will act as cyber
professors, have already been oriented on how to
incorporate technology and cyber-based interventions in
their classes, November 3. Forming part of the task force
are representatives from various colleges namely: Engr.
Jose Rizaldy de Armas (College of Engineering and
Technology), Angelo Aguinaldo (College of Liberal Arts),
Don Malabanan (College of Business Administration),
Emelyn Mayuga (College of Science), Jefferson Buenviaje
(College of International Hospitality Management), Jose de
Leon Jr. (College of Education), Alrien Dausan (College of
Law Enforcement Administration and Public Safety) and
Venus Nuñez (Information Technology Center).
