no barriers at LAD

The Languages Department, through its Language Learning
Center, (LLC) held the first culminating activity for foreign
students who completed the 30-hour session in English
Communication Skills.

Dubbed Building English Competence, the activity was
participated in by 15 Chinese and two Korean students of
LLC who delivered presentations in English and was
attended by Languages Department faculty members.

Headed by Juanito Cabañas, LLC is the university’s arm
that provides adequate opportunities for students to learn
conversational and academic English.


new books corner

The Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo (AEA) created a special
corner for its newly acquired books. The new books corner
features 650 titles of fiction and non-fiction books focused
on subjects that include education, crafts, science and
technology, among others. These valuable books may be
checked and read by students and faculty members until
November 30.

Further, the new books corner is one of the special
projects undertaken by AEA in celebration of the Library
Information Month. Other upcoming activities include free
film showing, mini trade fair and symposia.


talk on ethics

Faculty members and administrators gathered at the
Bulwagang Jose Basa on November 5 for a round table
discussion on Looking at DLSU-D’s Ethical Standards:
Today’s Challenges, Tomorrow’s Solutions.

Led by speakers Graduate School of Education, Arts and
Sciences Dean Dr. Nieves Medina, Faculty Association
President Jose Domingo, Behavioral Sciences faculty
Lilibeth Oñate and Graduate School of Business professor
Fr. Floriano Roa, the attendees shared insights on how to
further uplift the university’s ethical standards.

The round table discussion was sponsored by the College
of Business Administration (CBA) in cooperation with the
College of Liberal Arts and CBA Guidance and Counseling
Office.
