D. M. Guevara collection finds new home
Museo acquires more antique pieces

The Museo De La Salle recently received a collection of antique artifacts from the D. M. Guevara Foundation, Inc. that includes about 1,000 pieces of circa 19th and early 20th century furniture, furnishings, applied and fine arts and family lifestyle accoutrements.

The D. M. Guevara Foundation, Inc. generously donated its set of antiques with the hope that through this collection, a greater consciousness and appreciation of the Filipino Christian heritage will be realized. Further, the donation is a befitting laurel to the endeavors and extensive research that contributed to the development of Museo De La Salle, now considered by many as the foremost lifestyle museum of its kind.

In recognition to the foundation’s gesture, the Zaguan of Museo De La Salle is dedicated to the collection and is aptly named the D. M. Guevara Wing. The Zaguan will be the new home for the D. M. Guevara collection, which was previously housed at an old residence in Parañaque, Central Bank Complex and Nayong Pilipino.

To formally dedicate the D. M. Guevara collection to the Museo De La Salle, a ceremony will be held on September 6 at the Zaguan, Museo De La Salle and will be attended by DLSU system administrators, government officials, distinguished friends of Museo De La Salle and the Guevara family.
