painting workshop

Would you or any one you know want to learn to paint? Then, don’t miss Museo de La Salle’s Oil Painting Workshop on April 25-26. It will be conducted by Noel Escultura, resident artist of the National Museum.

The two-day workshop, open to teachers and students 16 years old and above, will include lectures on oil painting, materials and tools in painting, theory and use of colors, basic rules of composition, construction and perspective, light and shadow rendering, freehand drawing, and still life drawing. basic sign language

Sign language, anyone? The Lasallian Community Development Center will be offering a week-long lecture on basic sign language. The lecture, to be held at the Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo in April, is in support of LCDC’s programs for persons with disability.

Interested parties have to prepare a P750.00 registration fee, refundable only if the participants pass a performance evaluation. Contact loc. 3068 for more details.


alumni homecoming

Time for reunions! The De La Salle Alumni Association-DLSU-D Chapter will be holding its 5th Grand Alumni Homecoming, April 27, at the Museum Complex.

The whole-day celebration includes a job fair, business fair, and sports activities.

summer tour

The DLSU-D administrators had their culminating activity in Northern Luzon from March 22-26. With assistance from the Philippine Tourism Authority, the administrators went to Nueva Ecija, Banawe, Sagada, and Baguio City. They also visited Central Luzon State University and San Jose Christian College (in Nueva Ecija). These visits, according to Venicris Alonsozana, director of the Academic Linkages Office, could lead to possible linkages with said universities.

Congratulations to the DLSU-D faculty and staff basketball team for bringing home the championship trophy from the recently concluded Dasmariñas Inter-College Athletic Association (DICAA) held at the Dasmariñas municipal basketball court. DLSU-D prevailed over National College of Science and Technology (1st runner up), Technological University of the Philippines (2nd runner up) and Emilio Aguinaldo College (3rd runner up).

Inter-La Salle

Summer 2002 will be even hotter at DLSU-D! No, it’s not the El Niño phenomenon, but the events in the First Inter-La Salle Invitational Summer Games that the university will host on May 7-10.
Participants include DLSU-D, DLSU-Manila, DLSU-College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle-Lipa, University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod, DLSU-Health Sciences Campus, De La Salle-Manado, USLS Affiliate College-Roxas and La Salle College-Victorias.
As of this writing, invited schools which have signified their intention to join the Inter-La Salle are San Sebastian College (Manila), University of Santo Tomas, UP Diliman, University of the East and Foundation University (Dumaguete).
