RED concert beneficiaries

If you bought a ticket to the RED (Religious Education Department) concert, you actually helped support a few LCDC (Lasallian Community Development Center) projects, students of the Associate in Religious Education (ARE), and the street children of KUYA Center in Cubao.

The concert, participated in by RED faculty, Adornado Jordan of the Campus Ministry Office, and members of the Performing Arts Group, was held on Jan. 14-17 and 28 at the Severino delas Alas Hall. Themed “Kuwento mo…Kuwento ko… Sakramento,” it was directed by Larry Tolentino. Dr. Bing Valera and Myra Patambang wrote the script.

‘vocation month’ at DLSU-D

The Vocations Promotion Office observes “Vocation Month” at DLSU-D with the theme “A Life in Search of Christ.” Activities include a mass (Feb. 1), vocation campaign of invited religious from different congregations (Feb. 11-15), and a forum on different Christian vocations (February 21).

Beginnings: Lasallian artists’ exhibit

It has been on the drawing board for almost a year now. Finally, on February 6, the DLSU-D community will be the first to behold the art works of Angelo Aguinaldo, Languages Department faculty, Frederick Agustin and Orlando Oliveros, print projects coordinator and special projects coordinator of the DLSU-D Institutional Communication Office, respectively. In time for the celebration of art month, their works will be unveiled in an exhibit aptly dubbed “Beginnings.” Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo’s (AEA) main gallery will feature various seascapes, landscapes, portraits, and sketches, which trace the growth of each artist in his craft.

Art exhibits at the library, first begun with an exhibit of National Artist Solomon Saprid’s works, is in keeping with the vision of AEA, DLSU-D and the Museo De La Salle Foundation to cultivate awareness of arts and culture in Cavite.

help for diabetic patient

The father of Ms. Arnie Marie Ayson, secretary of Br. Ceci Hojillas, FSC of the Lasallian Animation and Formation Team, is a diabetic septuagenarian. He needs to be operated on and undergo hemodialysis, a procedure for removing metabolic waste products or toxic substances from the bloodstream by dialysis. The procedure is costly. Needless to say, Arni’s family needs your financial assistance and your prayers!

anything else?

After the seminar “Everyone’s Public Relations Role” given by Dante Velasco of Creative Point; “Events Management” by DLSU System Director for PR Marco Polo; and “Basic Newswriting and Editing” by ICO Special Projects Coordinator Orlando Oliveros, what else is there to look forward to?

The answer is MORE! The Institutional Communication Office and the DLSU-D PR Council have lined up these seminars for the academic community: Basic Design Using Adobe Pagemaker, Media Relations and Publicity, Creative Writing, Crisis and Issues Management, Basic Design Using Adobe Photoshop and Basic Photography.
