GAUF is 8th System school The 56-year-old Gregorio Araneta University Foundation (GAUF) is set to become the 8th school of the DLSU System. This, after the Executive Committee of the Central Board of Trustees of the System decided to make GAUF a System school starting June 2002. Br. Roly Dizon, FSC, says GAUFs addition to the System schools would enable DLSU to offer affordable, accessible and quality Lasallian education to a greater number of people, while GAUFs existing programs in veterinary medicine and agriculture will complement the present program offerings of the DLSU System. Under the DLSU System, GAUF could be known as either DLS-Araneta University or DLS-AU (still subject for approval). DLSU-Manilas Dr. Oscar Bautista has been appointed executive vice president of the school (condensed from Presidents Bulletin, Jan. 16-31). My.DLSUD Accessing individual information through the DLSU-D web pages is now available. Through the My.DLSUD Student Portal, students may access their class schedules (My.Sked), exam schedules (My.Exam), and tuition fee assessment (My.Assess). The portal also includes other helpful features. My.Forum serves as a means through which students may engage in discussions by posting messages about any topic. My.Calendar allows them to create a personalized calendar of activities for the school year. Other features that will soon be ready are My.Record, through which, students final grades may be known; and My.Mail, which will enable students to maintain an individual e-mail account. A student may access My.DLSUD by logging in to the portal using a designated name and a chosen password (encoded upon enrolment). The portal is secure and only the user may access his personal information. A formal
launch of the portal will be held soon. (Emilou Mata) Beginnings: Lasallian artists exhibit It has been on the drawing board for almost a year now. Finally, on February 6, the DLSU-D community will be the first to behold the art works of Angelo Aguinaldo, Languages Department faculty, Frederick Agustin and Orlando Oliveros, print projects coordinator and special projects coordinator of the DLSU-D Institutional Communication Office, respectively. In time for the celebration of art month, their works will be unveiled in an exhibit aptly dubbed Beginnings. Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldos (AEA) main gallery will feature various seascapes, landscapes, portraits, and sketches, which trace the growth of each artist in his craft. Art exhibits at the library, first begun with an exhibit of National Artist Solomon Saprids works, is in keeping with the vision of AEA, DLSU-D and the Museo De La Salle Foundation to cultivate awareness of arts and culture in Cavite.
