An umbrella organization that shall supervise and coordinate pertinent activities of the following units: Campus Ministry Office, University Lasallian Family Office and Residencia La Salle Management Office.

Rationale:

• The Center responds further to the mandate of the 1999 FIRST LASALLIAN FAMILY DISTRICT SYNOD ten-point agenda (with formation of all sectors as the priority)

• *The Shared Mission Document of the Brothers' 42 nd General Chapter in 1993 declared:

* the District will make the Lasallian formation of teachers and educators a fundamental priority. To achieve this aim, Brothers and Laity together:

•  will intensify the activities of Centers of Formation, suitable courses and programs.

•  develop Lasallian research, information and communication;

•  name one (or more) persons to coordinate, animate and supervise this formation;

* the District will strengthen the structures with a view to animating and coordinating the shared mission;

* the District will strive more and more to integrate the lasallian Family and the shared mission;

FUNCTIONS

- The Center shall coordinate, animate and supervise formation programs pertinent to the Lasallian Mission of Human and Christian Education;

- The Center shall coordinate its programs and work closely with the offices of the Chaplain, Religious Education Department, Student Affairs and Lasallian Community Development Center and Guidance and Counseling Office

- The Center shall be responsible for the groups of persons committed to the shared mission through the creation and implementation of programs of gradual initiation, continuing formation and accompaniment;

- The Center shall spearhead Lasallian Studies, Research and Publications
