The Mathematics Department (MsD) supports the College of Science 's goal to benchmark on the advances of basic and applied scientific researches by taking part in revitalizing education through the transfer of productive learning and in directing local communities to discover resources that improve their livelihood without sacrificing the natural environment and the well-preserved cultures.
It responds to the research needs in Cavite and CALABARZON and focuses its research undertakings in the major areas of Mathematics Education, Mathematical Modelling, Ethnomathematics, and pure Mathematics.
Specifically, these areas deal with the following:
1. teaching and learning of mathematics involving curriculum, strategies, problem solving assessment and the use of technology;
2. network analysis and discrete optimization;
3. exploration, discovery and appreciation of the mathematics found in nature and contribution to the indigenous knowledge of culture;
4. uncovering of proofs of incomplete and unexplained theorems in mathematics and discovery of new theories;
