Outreach Programs
Balik-Aral Program
The Balik-Aral Program (BAP) is a non-formal educational outreach program of DLSU-D offered by the College of Education (COE). It is intended for the poor and unattended sectors of youth and adults in the Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan (DBB) relocation areas and environs. The BAP students go to the university from Monday to Friday, 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to attend classes.
The specific objectives of the BAP are as follows:
to respond to the educational needs of the underprivileged adults and out-of-school youth who were not able to study at an earlier age or those who were not in school for quite some time;
to promote and imbibe Christian values and the dignity of work;
to develop students who believe in themselves, and who are positive about their outlook in life; and
to develop well-rounded individuals who live the Gospel and show concern for others as formed by their Lasallian heritage.
KASAKA
Considering the great need for catechists in Dasmariñas and DLSU-D's commitment to evangelization in the Diocese of Imus, the RED in coordination with the COE, hopes to:
lead students into an awareness on the need of the community for evangelization in elementary and high schools.
prepare the students, through seminars, to hold catechism classes for both public and non-sectarian private schools.
involve COE students in the actual catechism to be credited in a 3-unit subject entitled Community Integration
lead volunteers to value catechism in public schools as their way of sharing the mission of St. La Salle to touch the lives of the youth.
FORMATION PROGRAM FOR CATECHISTS
The Formation Program for Catechists is the response of De La Salle-University-Dasmariñas, College of Education-Religious Education Department to the request of the Vicariate of San Lorenzo Ruiz. This program is intended to help the on-going formation of catechists towards becoming more effective and professional communicators of faith
In the light of the National Catechetical Directory for the Philippines (NCDP) and the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines ' (PCPII) call for the renewed evangelization, this two-year formation program aims at a wholistic formation of catechists.
Objectives
The two-year program aims to help the catechists:
acquire and enrich their knowledge and skills on the fundamentals of Christian faith.
integrate faith and life through the practice and application of methods and processes in religious education; and
deepen their Christian commitment to the ministry of religious education. |
