Research Agenda and Thrusts
SSD and DLSU-Dasmarinas' Research Thrust
Research is one of the pillars of academic institution. It is a source of new ideas, theories and information for the development of society.
Social Sciences Department takes part in the research's vision and mission of De La Salle University, and its commitment to respond to the needs of CALABARZON, especially Cavite .
Social Sciences Department aims to align its research to the mandate of DLSU - System to focus on the development of the community, conservation and presentation of environment, and the enhancement of culture and the arts.
SSD's Awareness and Challenge on the Necessity of Research
Research is necessary in the formulation of new ideas, theories, and programs of the community;
Research responds to the needs of the society (e.g. CALABARZON: it is used as a basis for formulating programs that can respond to the needs of the community).
Research is anchored on the De La Salle University - Systems Thrusts of quality, excellence, relevant and global research agenda in order to contribute to the world's body of knowledge.
Channel of Research: FACULTY, each faculty of SSD is challenged to be "creative, to be innovative, and to be locally responsive to the holistic development" of human persons, their community, environment and culture.
