Admission Policy
1. The college adopts a common policy for admissions to its course offerings.
2. Freshmen
The college conforms with the institutional policies in admitting freshmen.
3. Shiftees
A shiftee should:
- Have a GPA of at least 85% or its equivalent.
- Not have failing grades in all academic and non-academic subjects.
- Pass the panel interview to be conducted by the Department Chair, program coordinator, selected faculty members and Associate Dean.
- Present his/her course cards/temporary transcript of record/certificate of grades.
- Submit a letter of consent from parents/guardians.
- Secure a shifting form from the Registrar's Office.
4. Transferees
A transferee should:
- Have a GPA of at least 85% or its equivalent.
- Not have failing grades in all academic and non-academic subjects.
- Pass the panel interview to be conducted by the Department Chair, program coordinator, selected faculty members and Associate Dean.
- Pass the DLSU-Dasmariñas entrance test.
- Submit the following:
certificate of good moral character
temporary transcript of records from previous school
a 2 x 2 photo pasted on a ½ index card
a referral slip from the DLSU-D Admissions and Testing Office
5. Retention policies for shiftees and transferees
A shiftee / transferee shall be placed on probation for one (1) school year. A student on probation shall not incur accumulated failing grades of more then six (6) units both in the academic and non-academic subjects during the probation period; otherwise, he/she will not be readmitted to the program the following school year. However, failing grades in excess of six (6) units should be retaken and passed during the probation period in order to be readmitted to the program.
A student who has been readmitted by virtue of the preceding policy shall not incur any failing marks for that semester in order to be retained in the program.
In case of circumstance not mentioned in the policy, the status of the shiftee or transferee shall be decided by the Chair and/or the Coordinator of the program and by the Associate Dean.
6. Returning student
A returning student shall bring the following for readmission:
-copy of his/her letter of absence or an accomplished student clearance.
-classcards during his/her last attendance to the university, and
-registration form.
A returning student who had failing marks in any of his academic or non-academic subjects during his/her previous attendance shall be placed on probation.
7. Retention policy for a regular student
Retention policy for a regular student shall be based on Section 11 of the Students Handbook School Year 1988-2002.
