Gawad Bayani 2009 now accepting nominations

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas is once again embarking on its annual search for outstanding Caviteños/Caviteñas. Now on its 15th year, this search is for Caviteños/Caviteñas who have committed themselves to serving people and who are living models of Lasallian values.

The University will accept nominations for all qualified individuals or groups. The winner shall be given the GAWAD BAYANI AWARD at the university’s annual commencement exercises.

Nominations must be done by any civic, professional, or religious group. The nominees’ area of accomplishment may be one of the following: community service, education, government service, agriculture, business, industry, science, environment, engineering, medicine, law, athletics, and the arts.

Criteria for Evaluation:

  • An awardee must be a living native of Cavite and a Filipino citizen. Also qualified is a Cavite-born individual who now lives outside Cavite or a Caviteño/Caviteña by affinity or migration. An awardee may also be a group of individuals that have a common commitment to serve people.
  • Formal schooling is not a requirement. However, he/she must have consistently demonstrated remarkable wisdom in the various activities of his/her life.
  • He/She must have exemplary morality and integrity in both public and private life.

  • He/She must have outstanding achievements or services for the growth and development of the society with contributions in and outside Cavite.

  • An awardee’s area of accomplishments may be in any of the following fields: community service, education, government service, agriculture, business, industry, science, environment, engineering, medicine, law, athletics, and the arts.

  • An awardee must be a living model of the values and beliefs cherished by the Lasallian community: selfless service to the community, promotion of justice and peace, concern for the poor, commitment to excellence in his/her area of endeavor, a strong Christian faith, and the spirit of zeal as manifested through compassionate attitude.
