"Ang Bahay na Bato" exhibition is featured at the CEAT Gallery/Exhibition
Hall. The exhibition will run until 30 September 2008.
The exhibition features selected architectural and decorative details like
pilasters, balustres, capiz windows and acanthus brackets highlighted on
panels with painted backgrounds depicting the missing details of these
architectural parts. Featured also in the exhibition is an interactive
carpentry workshop where guests can try their hands on woodcarving; and the
photo exhibition of the Wood, Stones and Shells from the Metroopolitan
Museum of Manila.
This activity is co-sponsored by the Department of Architure of DLSU-D,
United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxilliary (UAPSA) DLSU-D
Chapter, and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila.
A lecture-series supports this program featuring Architect Augusto Villalon
(Heritage Architecture in the Philippines, 15 August 2008, 3pm); Dr Fernando
Zialcita (Bahay na Bato and Relevance to Today's Generation, 05 September
2008, 3pm); and Architect Oscar Mapua (Reconstructing a Bahay na Bato,
23 September 2008, 3pm).
Ang Bahay na Bato is part of the Museo De La Salle program EXPOSICION which
aims to showcase some Museo collection in selected venues at DLSU-D.
