DLSU-D gets 100% passing in CPA licensure exam, alumna on top 2

DLSU-D’s College of Business Administration (CBA) is undoubtedly providing its students with the academic training expertise they need when Laila Amon (BS Accountancy, batch 2009), with an average of 91.57, placed 2nd out of the thousands aspiring CPAs who took the October 2009 CPA licensure exam. Further, all the recent graduates of the University who had taken the exam passed, giving the University a 100 percent passing rate. The overall school passing rate is 87 percent, thus making DLSU-D the 1st Top Performing School in Category D (10-25 examinees).

COE GS Alumna places 5th in
Board Exam for Guidance Counselors
Proving the excellence of DLSU-D students and the quality of its instruction, MAEd in Guidance and Counseling alumna Doddie Marie Licudine-Duclan emerged in 5th place in the Guidance Counselors Board Examination held on Aug. 27-28. The University garnered a passing rate of 75 percent which is higher than the national passing rate of 72.22 percent.
As part of the College of Education Graduate Studies (COE GS) community service efforts, free review classes for all MAEd Guidance and Counseling graduates were conducted from July 25 to Aug. 8. This was led by COE GS Director Manuel Camarse, together with other faculty members Dr. Isabelita Celestino, Dr. Josefina Madrid, Dr. Sonia Atienza, Dr. Paulito Hilario, Dr. Cecilia Banaag, Dr. Roslin De Ala, and PhD in Counseling Psychology student Maida Grace Almira Aguirre.
Other MAEd in Guidance Counseling alumni who passed the board examination are Ernesita Pareja-Corpuz, Sr. Irene Gala, Cesar Lago, Roberto Roldan Jr., and Nympha Villa.

2005 LET topnotcher receives Merit Award
DLSU-D alumnus and 2005 Licensure Examination for Teachers topnotcher Glenn Gilongos received the De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) Lasallian Merit Award on Oct. 14 at De La Salle University-Manila.
Gilongos, a BS Biology graduate, took the licensure exams for professional teachers on Aug. 5 last year and got a rating of 93.40 percent. Gilongos received the award together with other Lasallian alumni from other La Salle district schools who have topped the different professional licensure exams.
The DLSAA Lasallian Merit Award is given to Lasallian alumni who have brought distinction to any De La Salle schools by placing in the top ten of any licensure examination given by either the Professional Regulatory Commission or the Supreme Court. It seeks to motivate Lasallians to aspire for academic excellence.

Nine out of fifteen DLSU-D criminology graduates passed the May Criminologist Licensure Examinations
Nine out of fifteen DLSU-D criminology graduates passed the May Criminologist Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Criminology in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Iloilo, Legaspi and Tuguegarao. Out of a total of 3,720 takers, only 1,130 passed. DLSU-D’s performance rating is 60% while the national rating is 30%.
The board passers are Ronelo Abas, Andre Abesamis, Victor Calingasan, Jonald Magpuri, Ryan John Osis, Gian Warner Robles, Rangelo Saclolo, Jose Salamante Jr., and Rommel Taal.

DLSAA-DLSU-D Chapter awards outstanding alumni
De La Salle Alumni Association DLSU-D Chapter, Inc. recently granted the Young Patriot Achiever Award to distinguished alumni who brought honor and pride to the University at the Alumni Grand Homecoming held at the Severino De Las Alas Grounds.

AB Political Science; DLSU-D Student Admissions Office Director Juanito Cabanias, BSE in English; Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialist Sales and Marketing Manager Christian Bautista, BS Biology; ABC 5’s Shall We Dance? Segment Producer Pierre Rojan Queppet, AB Communication; Town of Tanza, Brgy. Capipiza Chairman Arch Angelo Matro, BSBA Management; DLSU-D College of Law Enforcement Administration and Public Safety Dean Rodel Esmilla, BS Criminology; and Philippine Coast Guard Executive Officer of Patrol Boat 3007 LJG Geronimo Tuvilla, PCG, BS Radiologic Technology. The awardees were screened according to their professional achievement, promotion of Lasallian values and significant contribution to community and national development. Further, a special plaque of recognition was awarded to Glenn Gilongos, BS Human Biology, for topping the 2005 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). The Silver Jubilarians Batch 1981 were also recognized.
Hosted by Batch 1996, the homecoming also paved way for the election of the new Board of Trustees. Elected are Nathaniel Golla,
